A wallet, also referred to as a billfold or pocketbook, is a foldable device meant for holding money, change, credit cards, driver's licenses, and other types of identification cards, usually of the plastic or laminate kind. Wallets are even used to hold photographs and receipts, and some are small enough to fit in a pocket and durable enough to be carried on a day-to-day basis.
These are longer, often thinner wallets that are designed to fit in the inside pocket of a dress coat or overcoat. Sometimes these are called billfolds. In a coat wallet, the wallet folds the long way so that the cash in the money pocket lies flat.
